Description
Unimog S 404 (also known as the Unimog S) is the most produced and arguably most iconic model in the Unimog family, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz from 1955 to 1980. Development began 1953, based on the civilian Unimog 411. Unlike its predecessors ("implement carriers") the Model S was purpose-built for military tactical use.The primary driver for its success was Bundeswehr. Over its 25-year production run, approximately 64,242 units were built, making it the best-selling Unimog. It was exported to military forces worldwide and used by fire departments and forestry services.
