Description
The Dodge WC-51 is a 3/4-ton, 4x4 "Weapons Carrier" truck, widely used by Allied forces in World War II from 1942–1945. Known for its reliability as a troop/cargo transport and artillery tractor, over 123,000 were built. It was a key part of the WC series, featuring a 92 hp engine and open cab. Introduced in April 1942, the WC-51 (and winch-equipped WC-52) replaced the earlier 1/2-ton Dodge WC series. It was designed as a "Weapons Carrier" to transport guns, ammunition, and personnel. The WC-51 is considered the most famous vehicle on the battlefield after the Willys Jeep.
